Planning and change management workshops

Planning happens to some degree in all organisations; the question is how much and when? The shorter the timescale, the closer managers get to a reactive, fire fighting process. When this happens they can lose sight of overall direction. This can result in decisions being taken without assessing risk or having a clear idea of the resources needed to deliver their goals.

Successful change requires a structured approach and real commitment. We help managers to consider appropriate approaches and practical applications to plan and create positive change. Topics include:-

Business planning

To be effective, planning must be a longer term, considered, strategic process. Our workshop covers how to engage in an effective, inclusive process of strategic business planning so that clear goal driven outcomes are developed and linked to vision and direction. We include SMART objective setting and how to cascade these objectives throughout the organisation in a way that helps employees at all levels to understand how they can contribute to achievement.

Managing projects

Projects often signify change and take people out of their normal roles, even if this is only for part of their working week. Managers responsible for projects need to recognise that in addition to careful planning of events in a logical order to an agreed deadline, projects also involve people. This often means teams coming together specifically to carry out tasks new to the individuals in a different environment and changing circumstances. Therefore, it is clear that good people processes, especially team building, need to be in place to support project working.

Managing change

Managing change has become an integral part of most management roles. However implementing change effectively can be challenging. Often there is resistance from people who are uncertain about how the change will affect them. This workshop considers the way we approach change and highlights a number of different methods for introducing change, involving people to minimise resistance and encouraging a positive input.
